These terms cover work carried out by Muhammad Furqan, a freelance developer based in Lahore, Pakistan, for clients in the United States, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Pakistan and elsewhere. They are written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask before we start rather than after.

1. Scope and quotes

Every project is quoted individually against a written scope. That scope lists what will be built, what I need from you, and the agreed dates. The quote is one figure, not an hourly estimate that grows.

The price does not move unless the scope moves. If you ask for something outside the agreed scope, I will tell you before doing it, quote it separately, and let you decide. I will not do additional work quietly and add it to an invoice.

2. What you need to provide

Nearly every project that runs late runs late for the same reason: content. To keep to the agreed dates I need the following, at the point agreed in the scope:

• Text for each page, or a clear brief for me to write from.
• Logos and brand assets in usable formats, plus photographs where the design calls for them.
• Access to your hosting, domain registrar and any third party systems being integrated.
• One named person with authority to approve work. Approval by committee is the other common cause of delay.

If materials arrive late, the timeline shifts by roughly the same amount. I will tell you when that happens rather than absorbing it silently and rushing the build.

3. Payments

• Fixed-scope projects are invoiced in stages: a deposit to begin, one or more milestone payments, and a final payment on completion before handover of files and credentials.
• Retainers are invoiced monthly in advance for an agreed number of hours. Unused hours do not roll over indefinitely; any carry-over is agreed in writing.
• Embedded and white label work is invoiced at the agreed day or monthly rate, on the cycle we agree.

Invoices are payable within 14 days unless stated otherwise. Payment is by bank transfer. I do not store card details. Work may pause on overdue invoices, and I will warn you before that happens.

4. Revisions

Revisions are part of the process, not a penalty. Each stage includes reasonable rounds of revision within the agreed direction: refining a layout, adjusting copy, changing colours and spacing.

What counts as new work rather than revision is a change of direction: a different design concept after one was approved, new pages, new functionality, or a new brand identity mid-build. Those are quoted separately.

5. Ownership and handover

On final payment, the work is yours. That means the code, the content, the design files produced for the project, and full administrative access. Your domain and hosting stay in your name throughout and are never held in mine.

I build with standard tools and standard practices specifically so you are not dependent on me. There is no proprietary system that only I can maintain. If you choose to work with another developer, any competent WordPress developer can take over.

Two exceptions, which are normal in this industry: third party licences, such as commercial plugins or themes, remain governed by their own vendors and may need renewing in your name; and I retain the right to describe the work and show it in my portfolio unless we agree otherwise in writing before the project starts.

6. Timelines

Dates are agreed before work begins and I hold to them. Where a date slips because of something on my side, I tell you as soon as I know rather than on the deadline. Where it slips because materials, approvals or third party access are outstanding, the timeline moves accordingly.

I work from Lahore, Pakistan. My afternoons overlap with UK and UAE business hours and my evenings overlap with US mornings, so there is a real window every working day. Response times outside that window are agreed per project.

7. What is not included

Unless it is written into the scope, a project does not include:

• Ongoing hosting, domain or plugin licence costs, which are billed to you by those providers directly.
• Ongoing maintenance, updates, backups or security monitoring. These are available as a separate retainer.
• Content writing, photography or videography, unless specified.
• Paid advertising management or ad spend.
• Guaranteed search rankings. Nobody can honestly promise a position in results they do not control, and anyone who does is either buying it or making it up.

8. Third party services

Projects frequently integrate services outside my control: hosting, payment gateways, scheduling software, CRMs, model providers. I will integrate them correctly and test them, but I cannot be responsible for their outages, their pricing changes, or breaking changes they make to their own interfaces. Where such a change breaks something I built, fixing it is chargeable work unless it falls inside a retainer.

9. Liability

I take care to deliver work that is tested and secure, and I will fix defects in my own work. My total liability in connection with a project is limited to the fees paid for that project. I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profit, lost revenue or lost data, and you are responsible for maintaining your own backups once the work has been handed over.

10. Cancellation

Either of us may end an engagement in writing. If you cancel, work completed up to that point is payable, and you receive whatever has been produced. Deposits cover work already scheduled and committed and are non-refundable once a project has begun. If I need to end an engagement, I will give reasonable notice, invoice only for completed work, and hand over what exists so another developer can continue.

11. Confidentiality

Anything you share about your business, your pricing, your customers or your plans stays confidential, and I am glad to sign your NDA. Credentials you give me are used only for the agreed work and are removed from my systems when the project ends. Much of my agency work is white label, so operating quietly is the normal way I work rather than an exception.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated, and the date at the top shows when they last were. The version that applies to your project is the version in force when your scope was agreed. Changes here do not alter an agreement already underway.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Before anything formal, I would far rather talk. In several years of work almost every disagreement has been resolved by a conversation about what was actually expected.
